Good Afternoon readers, today means Tuesday, which can only mean one thing: dinner planning!
Tuesday is the day my mother always plans her traditional Sunday roast; what vegetables should we have, what joint of meat, how many people are coming? The list goes on. Do you like to plan your meals? Especially 5 days in advance? I will admit the spread my mother makes is something quite special, from freshly made Yorkshire Puddings to soft creamy mash! My mouth waters at the thought of it. She decorated our dining room with Dakota Furniture just for her legendary Sunday specialty! It breaks my heart every time we have to cancel a Sunday dinner, and I have to start learning how to make it soon.
The excitement starts on a Tuesday midday. A list emerges, waiting patiently on the dining table to be taken to the local supermarket. Suddenly Thursday appears and the vegetables come rushing in, storing themselves in the kitchen. Before we know it Sunday rolls around, the partying and celebration of Friday has long gone, and the Saturday night television has already aired to the excited viewers: it is time to relax. The silky mash lands perfectly on the plate, the steaming vegetables curling up next to each other, and the unforgettable joint of meat sitting proudly in the centre of our Light Dakota 180cm Dining Table. This allows my big family to all fit comfortably next to each other, sharing laughter, stories and most importantly, the Sunday roast, our rumbling stomachs have been settled at last after a week of waiting.
Anyway that has been today’s blog, I hope you have fun planning your next Sunday Lunch, and enjoy some quality time with your family, wish me luck for the future when I take on the role of head chef, I will need it.
